Attie’s Origin Story
Attie, born in Pretoria on 24 June 1969, and raised in Pretoria in the Province of Gauteng, South Africa, started his IT career directly after school when he joined the SA Defence fore as a Radar Engineer for south Africa, in 1995 joined one of South Africa’s Petrochemical giants.
He studied further in the Electrical and Electronics to obtain his N Diploma via the SA Defence fore.
In the short time frame moved from Desktop Engineer, Call agent, first line support to Project Manager to Desktop Manager.
He was thereafter interested in growing his career and took a role in the networking environment as Network Engineer.
In short time frame moved from Network Engineer, Senior Network Engineer to lead consultant.
He performed well, and later was appointed as the Network Manager for one of the biggest network giants in the world.
In the network space he was looking after the network deigns, operations and the network implementations.
He received this year an opportunity to join WELA as an Operations Manager and uses his almost 27 years’ experience supporting on site Operations in One of the biggest Petrochemical giants of South Africa to add value to the team.
He gets good feedback from his clients as seen below.
We would like to recognize Attie De Jager for his never-give-up approach with tasks assigned to him and for always having the best interest of his customer interest at heart.
He always follows through with activities assigned to him, and he demonstrated again today why he is a good ambassador for the IM Connectivity team by resolving the Secunda HR TP Room codec problem.
The room is back in operation after being offline for more than a few years exclusively due to his exceptionally high work ethic. Well done, Attie!!! and THANK YOU for always sharing your wealth of network knowledge and experience with your colleagues.
